Drumcliffe Handball Clubs Year to Date.

What a year it’s been for Drumcliffe Handball club!!  We started with a recruitment drive in October when we returned to training with our juvenile members on Saturday mornings.  Our registration numbers were up on last year at this point, and we now have 72 people registered with the club.

We have our 6 regular coaches who have been working hard each week to improve the skills of the children: Hugh Slevin Snr, Mickey Brennan, Hugh Slevin Jnr, Joel Smith , Martin Corr and Clive Slevin.  The hard work of both coaches and players has certainly payed off.  There has been a marked improvement in all of our players, right through the categories from 6 years upwards.

Drumcliffe Handball Club secured the title of Connacht Handball Club of the year 2017.  This is a great achievement in such a short time as the current club.

In 2018 we hosted a number of friendly blitz games with our neighbouring clubs, Golden Gloves Competition, Child Protection course and a Handball Coaching Course where 7 of our members completed the Fundamentals in coaching handball training with Darragh Ruane  GAA Handball as Seen Below.

As a club we pride ourselves on our friendly and fun approach to Handball.

We are hugely proud of our members both on and off the court.  We always extend a warm welcome to visiting clubs and spectators alike.   None of this could be achieved without the continued support of our committee and parents who are relentless at showing their support at training and competitions, not to forget making endless cups of tea!!
